EN:Bracket

From IP7 Wiki

For complex search queries you can use brackets for nested searches.
Brackets are necessary in searches where search blocks are linked with AND and simultaneously with OR / linked with OR and simultaneously with NOT.

After clicking "Bracket" an empty bracket is initially displayed.
Using drag and drop, the desired search blocks can be transferred to the brackets.

By clicking on the small triangle icon left of the bracket, the bracket can be opened/closed.

Example
A search should find patents which contain a specific text and an application in a specific country.
Additionally, the found patents should „either“ contain a specific applicant „or” a specific IPC/CPC class.

The following search is wrong (no brackets):

Citations

It is possible to activate the "Citations" – feature in a bracket.
This way the result of the bracket is searched for citations.
The citation search can be configured in the "Search Assistant".

Using this feature enables you to, for example, create automatic searches which search the citations of patents in a folder.
